Limited Edition Alpha
Limited Edition Alpha, commonly known as Alpha, is the first print run of the first core set of Magic: The Gathering.
The set contains 295 cards and was released on 5th August, 1993.
Alpha cards can be easily distinguished from Beta and all other cards by their more rounded corners.
Alpha was released at Origins in July/August, 1993 with a small run of 2.6 million cards. Cards were sold in 60-card starter decks and 15-card boosters. The set did not receive much exposure beyond the West Coast of the United States.
